Friday Food Fight – Panera Bread

It’s that time of the week again, you know Friday Food Fight time, when we tease each other with our favorite foods.
This week, well actually yesterday, Hubby and I went to one of our favorite spots for lunch, Panera Bread!

Of course I had to order my favorite item on the menu, a Mozzarella and Tomato Panini paired with a Classic Salad and a Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing! YUUUMMO!

How much do I love it?  Hmmm… you be the judge!

To join our Friday Food Fight, post a picture of your favorite food, meal, snack
or drink.  Of course, we’d love to see you enjoying your tasty treat, but you
don’t have to be in the picture.  Then on Friday, post your drool inducing photo
and link up here.  That’s it.

I love the trees in Fall!

The weather has been lovely here in Florida the past couple of weeks!  I’m sitting here wrapped up in an oversized cardigan with a cup of tea writing all about the seasons for Tara’s Gallery this week.

I think fall is my favorite season for a few reasons, first because it’s the only time of year Florida actually has a season other than “hot as balls” and second because it brings a few of my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I’m a big nature lover and  trees are my most, favorite, part of nature as well as flowers, rivers, animals, rocks, beaches, etc. I have two gorgeous rain trees in my front yard that are beautiful this time of year.  When I first moved into my house, *mumble, mumble* years ago, they were mere twigs sprouting up from the ground.

Now they’ve grown into these lovely, big, trees that my photography does no justice.

Their branches sprout hundreds of these brightly colored, golden seed pods in the fall.

Call me a tree hugger if you must, but I LOVE trees!

Maybe it was the many stories I read as a child, of secret passageways in the bottom of  magical oaks or enormous redwoods, which brought me to love these beautiful, majestic gems of nature?

What ever the reason, I will always pull out my camera when I see one that gives me that whimsical, nostalgia of childhood fables.

So, now that I’ve flooded you with my tree fetish here’s a picture of something even more adorable…

Yep! That’s my Meggers all bundled up and ready to head out with daddy to run some errands.

What’s your favorite season?

Head over to The Gallery where there have been weather reports of all sorts.

Gallery – Everybody loves me!

On one of the last nights my cousin was here we decided to get together to have a proper send off!  We all gathered at my mum’s house on the water and while my mum and my older brother did the cooking, my cousin, hubby and sister-in-law decided to take the kids to visit the local beach just down the road from the house to look for horseshoe crabs.  I opted to stay back because I needed to get a bit of reading done for school, but enjoyed looking at some of the lovely pictures that were captured of the kids on the beach.

That’s Meg’s cousins with their mum on the left and on the right Meg’s wading out to my cousin Archie.

Hubby took a lovely picture from the water of the beach…

After having fun splish splashing around on the beach they decided to have a stroll on the boardwalk where they stumbled across this…

What the…?  *hubby raises an eyebrow at me*

I swear I haven’t been to that beach since I was about 15!  Really!

It made me feel a tad like Cameron Diaz in something about Mary!  Ach well, I guess I should just embrace the love!

Don’t Stop Me Now… I’m Star Struck!

So, I’ve had Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now stuck in my head all week!  Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love it, I mean who doesn’t love a good Freddy Mercury song?

However, it’s turned me into a bit of a broadway wanna be!

I’ve been prancing around in front of hubby doing parts of Beyonce’s Single Ladies dance to it, you know the part where she looks like she’s punching the floor?  Then to make matters worse when the song says “traveling at the speed of light” I’ve put my hands on either side of hubby’s head and moved them back and forth really fast to try to make him look as though he’s moving really fast.  I’ve even enlisted Meggers to help me with it!

 I have no shame!

On twitter it sparked a long conversation about awesome Queen songs with a friend of mine, John aka @jdugald (you should follow him! Such a sweetie!), who not only share’s my passion for a good Queen song, but who is also a fan of Zachary Levi!

You know…

Zachary Levi aka Chuck Bartowski from the TV series Chuck?

Alvin and the Chipmunks The Squeakquel

Lent his voice to the ever popular game Halo and is currently the leading male in Disney’s new movie Tangled along side Mandy Moore?

Maybe this will help?

  I know! Cute right?!

But I digress…

So back to @jdugald and I talking about Queen…

We both follow @ZacharyLevi on twitter and decided to add him to our conversation by throwing out the question…

never in a million years thinking he’d respond as we’ve stalked asked him questions before to no avail.

Well this time he did…

John (@Jdugald) and I were so excited!

He’s one of those actors who gets me all giddy and star struck!

I know what you’re thinking!

My friends giggled at me when I bought the Nerd shirts for Meg and I…

and when I bought my Buy More mug!

They’ve ribbed me that it probably wasn’t actually Zachary Levi who tweeted at all and more likely his staff that responded!

You know what though?

I’m going to keep my giddy and believe that it was Mr. Levi (I’m sure @jdugald will agree)!

So tell me…

Who gets you all giddy and star struck?  Have you ever received a tweet from one of your favorite celebrities?

Happy Music Monday!

PS Don’t forget November is National Epilepsy Awareness month, so make the promise and Talk About It!

Our very first Friday Food Fight!

The night before my sister Karen over at If I Could Escape moved back to the UK, Denise (my SIL) and I started to fatasize over all the yummy British foods she would soon be savoring.  As we dreamingly drooled over tasty British treats, Karen began to get a bit melancholy for the food she would be missing here in the States.  So, we concocted a fabulous way to tease share all our favorite foods and this is how our Friday Food Fight began.

I know my sister’s probably going to post a big, fat, bag of fish-n-chips or a 99 to make me insanely jealous, but it’s fall here in Florida and ya know what that means?  All things pumpkin are making their annual appearance and one thing my sister loves is pumpkin!

So, for starters how about a Pumpkin Spiced Latte from Starbucks, a Pumpkin muffin and I know it’s not pumpkin, but who can resist a Ghirardelli caramel chocolate bar?

Is a pumpkin muffin really that good you say?

Well, after you take one bite…

 this happens…

Enough said!

Oh and one more thing I made a Pumpkin Roll, complete with sweet cream cheese filling!

It came out perfect for my first go at it.

Is it just me or does my hand look like a lobster claw?  I digress…

Denise I’m gonna need pointers on how to get in  keep in shape, as our new Friday Food Fight is going to do a number on my non-existent waistline. *wink*

To join our Friday Food Fight, post a picture of your favorite food, meal, snack
or drink.  Of course, we’d love to see you enjoying your tasty treat, but you
don’t have to be in the picture.  Then on Friday, post your drool inducing photo
and link up here.  That’s it.

And while you’re sharing your favorite foodie photo, we’d love for you to add
our fun Friday Food Fight button to your post and link back here.

In My Heart…

The silence it’s deafening

the pain is much to great,

the thought of you not being here

just doesn’t resonate.

My head keeps spinning round and round

emotions wearing thin,

Tears fall down upon the ground

the weather from within.

You’ve always been a part of me

my heart, my life, my soul

life doesn’t always go our way,

so I know I have to let you go.

Gallery – The color red!

So Tara’s gallery this week over at Sticky Fingers is all about the color red!  After pooling through pictures of Meg’s Halloween costumes I picked a few of my favorites to share.

The first is Meg giving her trusty sidekick a flying lesson.

The second is Meg as Hannah Montana!

She was quite the little rock star signing autographs and everything!

This year we’re leaving the color red behind and opting for blue as Meg had decided she wants to be Neytiri from Avatar!

What fabulous costumes have your kids picked for this years Halloween festivities?
