I Scream, you scream, we all scream for…

Holy Crap! Now that’s what I call an ice cream!

While on vacation in Miami this summer, a friend told me about a cute little place her dad would take her and her sisters when they were little.  She told me she had really great memories of this little place called Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor!

I’m all about making great memories so we googled it, found out it wasn’t that far from where we were staying, and decided to head over and have dinner!

I was so happy my friend shared her childhood memory with us because this place was sooo cute and had a lovely history , which I love!  Another thing I love is the place has raised some serious cash for charity!

We got there at just the right time so we didn’t have to wait to long to get into this little gold mine.

When we were seated I was a tad  nervous because it was crowded, but soon forgot it as I looked around at the walls and ceilings which were covered with trinkets and license plates that dated back to the 1920’s!

The food was FABULOUS!

We started off with some onion rings brought to our table on this cute little airplane…

and hubby was glad to receive his very own little pitcher of tea!

Then, we couldn’t believe how big each of our meals were…

Hubby’s Reuben!

My Philly burger!

Meg’s cheese burger!

We were too stuffed to order one of their trademark ice cream’s served in the kitchen sink!  They literally serve it in a baby doll (not Barbie) sized kitchen sink shaped like the one in the picture below!  It’s HUGE!!!

You have to see the size of the ice cream servings to believe it!

We did however get some ice cream to go and it was DELICIOUS!  Sooo rich and creamy that we were all fighting over who got the last bite!  I won, but was guilted into sharing it with Meg!

All in all we had a fabulous time at Jaxson’s and give it a definite two thumbs up!  Thanks Susie for recommending it!

Do you have a place you remember going as a child?  A restaurant?  A park?  Somewhere that holds a special memory?  I’d love to hear about it!

  1. Good grief! Huge portions! Ha ha. Thought those massive onion rings were doughnuts at first. Well you know if you go to an ice cream palour it would be very wrong not to have some wouldn’t it? Perhaps a cone might be better to serve it in than a kitchen sink? Doh! Happy you guys had a good time 🙂

  2. I’ve lived in Miami my whole life and never been there. It sounds spectacular. Just the onion rings sold me. And I’ve heard good things about their Kitchen Sink. I could probably feed the entire family on one of those. Hope you enjoyed the south of Florida. 😉
